Terminology：What is Local 5G?

Local 5G refers to a method whereby companies and local governments that are not telecommunications carriers construct and utilize dedicated 5G networks in certain areas or within buildings and premises. Called Local 5G, because it is not intended for general use, but rather for limited use in specific areas and by specific users. It is being utilized to realize “smart factories” where companies establish dedicated networks within factory premises to enable robot-based autonomous driving and remote control, as well as to provide new viewing experiences at sports events using VR and AR technologies.
