Handy forming cables

  • background

Although flexible and semi-flexible cables have flexibility, they are inferior in terms of their characteristics when compared with semi-rigid cables. As well as having special characteristics, semi-rigid cables are hard. Until now, cables that satisfy both of those aspects have not been available.
  • problem

When connecting cables inside communication device installations, semi-rigid cables exhibit better characteristics and are more stable than flexible and semi-flexible cables. But because semi-rigid cables are hard, a bending process was necessary using machines or jigs.
In diagrams for semi-rigid cables with their bent shape, even if the bend location or size differs just a little, a new diagram has to be created. Also, semi-rigid cables to which forming has been applied occupy a large amount of shelf and storage space.
  • solution

In order to solve these kinds of issues, Waka has taken advantage of the fact that our semi-rigid cables are manufactured in-house to develop our semi-rigid handy forming cables, which have around twice the softness of conventional products. They can be bent easily by hand and because they maintain their shape, forming them is simple.
*Caution: it is not possible to bend and stretch these cables repeatedly.

    Superior high-frequency characteristics
There is little loss during insertion due to the low-loss construction of semi-rigid cables.

No need to create bending process diagrams
These cables are provided by Waka in their original, straight state, and because bending is undertaken by the customer, bending process diagrams are unnecessary, and diagram creation and management can be simplified.

Compatible with various connectors and cable lengths
Standard lengths are set at units of 50 mm, so it is possible to manufacture cables to small differences in length.
They are compatible with everything from milli-wave to microwave connectors.

We have made it possible to provide even greater value for money by consolidating order quantities.

  • uses

Internal and external wiring for all kinds of communication and measuring devices, such as weather radars and test sets for communication base stations, semiconductors, etc.
