Space-Qualified Coaxial Connectors (JAXA-Certified)

WAKA’s Space-qualified coaxial connectors were certified by JAXA in 2013. Within Japan, WAKA is the only manufacturer to hold JAXA certification for coaxial connectors used in satellite applications.
 
Achieving JAXA certification requires exceptional reliability. The connectors must withstand the severe vibration and shock of rocket launches and operate without failure for the entire operational life of a satellite—typically more than 15 years.
 
Space applications also impose requirements beyond robustness. Products must be lightweight and maintain stable performance in a vacuum environment. In space, risks such as dielectric breakdown and insulation failure are more likely to occur, so higher insulation performance is required compared to terrestrial products. In addition, stringent material selection standards are applied to prevent outgassing from organic materials from affecting nearby equipment. WAKA’s JAXA-certified coaxial connectors meet all of these demanding requirements.
 
In addition to JAXA-certified Flight Model (FM) products, we also offer Engineering Model (EM) versions. These share the same design and manufacturing process as FM products but omit the final acceptance inspections, providing a more cost-effective option for prototyping and evaluation purposes.
